Turkey trains surgeons through university residency programmes, and many work in hospitals licensed to treat international patients. Quality still varies from one surgeon to another, so look at the individual doctor: where they trained, which specialty title they hold, which associations they belong to and how often they perform your procedure.
Are plastic surgeons in Turkey board certified?
Turkey does not use the American term board certified. A doctor becomes a specialist after completing a residency programme and earning the specialty title, for example in plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery. How do I find a reputable plastic surgeon in Turkey?
Check five things before you book: the surgeon's specialty title, where they trained, professional memberships, the clinic's health tourism licence from the Ministry of Health, and who looks after you after surgery. Ask for these in writing and compare them with what other clinics send you.
