General Surgery and Metabolic Surgery

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mutlu Ünver trained at Ege University Faculty of Medicine, from 2000, and began his general surgery residency at Ege University in 2006, with training in oncological surgery and in liver and kidney transplant surgery, including cadaveric and living-donor transplantation. From 2012 to 2014 he worked at Izmir Tepecik Training and Research Hospital and, in parallel, carried out post-doctoral research at Izmir Institute of Technology on hepatocellular carcinoma and stem cells. He went on to hold academic posts at Izmir University (2014-2016) and Izmir University of Economics (2020-2021), and was awarded the title of Associate Professor in 2021. He now practises privately at JFS Clinic, where his work centres on obesity and metabolic surgery for international patients.

Dr. Ünver reports more than 500 bariatric operations, more than 2,000 oncological operations and more than 250 transplant operations, according to his own published profile.

His procedures include sleeve gastrectomy, gastric bypass, the transit bipartition operation and the non-surgical gastric balloon, each selected according to a patient's weight, health history and goals. Alongside bariatric surgery, he also carries out laparoscopic liver resection, thyroid surgery, transplant surgery and other general surgical procedures.
